Language
: Actually you can select either English or German (Deutsch). If anyone wants to have another language (translate it) contact me in one of the support boards... If language is changed, it is necessary to 'Save' the settings (don't use 'OK' only) and restart GfD.
TV Safe Area Color: Color for the dotted frames if  'Show TV Safe Area' is switched on. Click in the yellow square to change this color
Show point grid if TV safe area = on: If you have 'TV Safe areas' switched on, you may set this option to show a point grid (with the given raster width).
Raster X: Raster width in X (horizontal) direction
Raster Y: Raster width in Y (vertical) direction
Use Raster: If activated, all elements (images, text, buttons) are moved in the given pixel raster (default = 16 pixel). Switch off to enable any positions (if elements are moved with the cursor keys, this setting is not used).
Auto Group: Is only functional for pure graphical buttons. If activated, buttons are moved together with the underlying image/clip (only if the image/clip and the button have exactly the same position and size). To access the properties of underlying images/clips, use Shift (or Ctrl or Alt) and right mouse button.
Blur settings: Enable or disable blurring for menus and set up the values for X (horizontal) direction and Y (vertical) direction
See also: Using Blur
Defaults for Create Layout by Grid: Here you may set your preferences for the 'Grid menu layout' function. Rows/Columns are restricted to 1 to 35, all other values are in pixel and restricted to the menu size (PAL<->NTSC).
Subtitle Formatting: Defaults for font, position, character set... of text based subtitles. The button opens a dialog for these settings. No meaning for MuxMan.
Adjust NTSC timecodes (dvdauthor only): Dvdauthor creates sometimes 'strange' chapter timings (probably depends on drop frame/non drop frame timecodes). If you use existing timecodes (from chapterextractor or ifoedit or similar) these are probably already corrected. In this case you should not use this option. If the chapters are created with the extended chapter editor ChapEditGFD, the timecodes may still need a correction. In case of doubt, just try it out.
Ask for save: If activated you will be asked to save the project in case of any changes.
Automatically accept Video and Audio files: If activated the Audio and Video files dialog is automatically closed with defaults after 0.5 seconds. Useful if you have a bunch of ready video files (like music video clips), where no special settings for chapters, multiple audio streams, subtitles... are used.
Keep global gfd.log file: If activated, all 'CreateDVD' runs are logged in the specified file (only project name, output folder, contained video files and status are written). New information is always appended.
Number of Frames for still menus: You may select the number of frames for still menus here (default=1 in version 0.99; in prior versions 2 or 1); Some stand alone players (Pioneer) have problems with only one frame, PowerDVD has problems with 2 to 6 frames... therefore this parameter is selectable since version 0.91 with a default of 1 frames. For maximum compatibility use around 15 frames. Should be fixed with version 1.00, but as I don't know all players, the option is kept. For MuxMan this option has no meaning.
Use insnav for still menus with audio: Mplex doesn't add navigation packs (except the first one) for 'single frame' MPEGs with a (longer) audio file. Some users reported problems with this behavior. The insnav program (from C. Patel) which is also used for Audiotitlesets adds these additional navigation packs. This seems to work fine if really only 1 or 2 video frames are there. It seems to fail if more then ~ 6 Frames are there. Since this depends on your setting for 'Number of Frames for still menus', it is up to you to decide what to do. For maximum compatibility use animated menus.
Size indicator Max.: Maximum of the size indicator bar. Use 5 GB for normal DVD5 and 10 GB for double layer DVDs.
