  1. Why am I seeing the "Unknown Publisher" message?

Don't worry! The warning merely indicates that the code about to run has not been digitally signed by a certification authority (CA). Singing can cost developers as much as $400 and seeing that %ProgamName% is 100% freeware I cannot yet justify the expense. I can only give every user of Kiss DejaVu Enc my personal promise that Kiss DejaVu Enc was 100% spyware and virus free at compilation. As long as Kiss DejaVu Enc is downloaded from a reputable site such as VideoHelp, Download.com or SoftPedia then you have nothing to worry about.

  2. Why is the Exe the preferred istallation method?

The executable (.exe) is the preferred installation method for the average user. The executable will automatically locate all perquisites needed for the installation and execution of Kiss DejaVu Enc . Also you will notice that the exe is considerably smaller in size than the MSI. This is because the Exe does not actually contain Kiss DejaVu Enc but downloads Kiss DejaVu Enc and any perquisites from external websites.
  3. What's the difference between the Msi and Exe installers?

Msi is recommended for advance users. MSI files are database files, used by Windows Installer. They contain information about an application which is divided into features and components, and every component may hold files, registry data, shortcuts etc. Msi will not install any installation or execution perquisites. Also the MSI will be larger since it actually contains a copy of the application being installed.

Yes!  Kiss DejaVu Enc will run with .Net Framework 2.0 or higher

  6. Why name it 'Kiss DejaVu Enc'?

As we all know K.I.S.S. is short for keep it simple stupid. And DeJaVu (sp?) is just a play on words that desribes the basic use of the program: Re-encoding. Makes sense?
